Our rules and code of conduct are as follows:
We want this event to be friendly, inclusive and safe for all participants. So the main rules are be nice and be sensible.
You can do this by:
- Respecting people’s pronouns,
- Obtaining consent from all new training /sparring partners. Consent can be withdrawn at any point.
- Continual communication with training/sparring partners.
- Following the safety procedures laid out by the organisers
- Respectfully listening to the instructors and following their lessons. Please do not deviate from drills as this is not only dangerous but can be seen as very disrespectful.
If you notice anyone violating these rules, or anyone is making you feel uncomfortable please immediately come and speak to Victoria, Chris, or any event assistants and they will be able to help.
The organisers reserve the right to remove any participant not adhering to these rules.
Please come to registration as soon as you arrive. Please try to complete any booking forms that may be sent to you prior to the event to streamline things at check in. We’ll give everyone the safety briefing during the welcome speech so please attend that, if you miss it please find Victoria or Chris to take you through everything.
FreePlay and Tournament minimum requirements:
There will be a small dedicated space for freeplay and/or cutting throughout the entire day, the timetable will say where this is. Please only use the assigned areas for this and don’t use weapons in the communal areas or in thoroughfares.
Be aware of your surroundings/fellow attendees at all times.
All kit must be well maintained and suitable for the activity taking place.
Absolutely no sparring is permitted with sharp weapons.
Sharp Weapons:
Sharp weapons are prohibited on site unless by prior consultation with the event organisers.
Food and Drink:
THIS IS A NUT FREE SITE! Please do not bring any food containing nuts as our venue is a totally nut free zone due to severe allergies.
A light lunch will be provided, this will be on a help yourself basis. This will mainly be in the form of sandwiches so if you have any special dietary requirements you may want to bring yourself something. There is a fridge available.
We will aim to have communal food out on the worktops in the kitchen ready for the start of lunch, any food in the fridge or cupboards labelled with a “NO” is not for this event so should not be consumed.
Help yourself to tea/coffee/hot chocolate whenever you like.
A tuck shop will be available with fizzy pop, sweets, crisps and maybe some fruit. This is a pay what you feel honesty box but we do encourage people to be generous as the money raised from this will go to charity.
There are tables and chairs available but feel free to eat wherever you’re comfortable. We do ask that you be cautious and considerate if eating/drinking in any of the training halls. If you spill anything please clean it up as quickly as possible so no one slips or trips or come and grab one of the organisers to assist.
Please place all litter into the bins provided.
